Ayurveda is a holistic approach to healing, which focuses on the root cause of any loss of wellbeing rather than merely treating the symptoms.

Originating in India thousands of years ago, the word Ayurveda is made from two Sanskrit roots ‘Ayu’ which mean life and ‘Veda’ which means knowledge. Therefore, the term Ayurveda means the knowledge or science of life.

Ayurveda uses a combination of diet, herbal medicine and lifestyle choices to promote wholeness and vitality.

Essentially, Ayurveda is a lifestyle, which offers a path to greater consciousness. Indeed a certain level of consciousness and self-responsibility is required to bring Ayurveda into your life, allowing you to move beyond habits and behaviour patterns which do not support your nature or indeed health and wellbeing.

Ahead of the session, you will be asked to complete an extensive questionnaire to begin the process of coming to know thyself on a deeper level. The questionnaire will be discussed at the session and your tongue and pulse checked.

Following the session you will receive an information sheet detailing any suggested dietary and lifestyle changes, as well as medicinal herbs which will support your healing.

Please note that it can take many years of living out of balance for dis-ease to manifest, so it can take time to heal. Personal responsibility, a desire to heal and a willingness to make changes can make all the difference.

Testimonials

I spoke with Emma about Ayurveda at a time when I was struggling with my hormones after coming off long term contraception and going through a really stressful period. Emma used an Ayurvedic approach to look at how I could best support my body to rebalance. I found the changes really helped to settle everything back down and I felt so much more grounded and like myself again! Emma is really friendly, supportive and saw me as a whole person rather than just my symptoms. I would definitely recommend Emma and Ayurveda!

I saw Emma for Ayurvedic treatment last year for a digestive complaint. The diet plan she gave me was great, a few simple changes made a big difference. I loved that for a lot of the foods I needed to avoid there was an alternative that I could have. Emma was very supportive throughout and I felt she had a good understanding of my case. After working with Emma my tummy settled and I felt less bloated and had more energy.

Emma is a master in listening to both the spoken and unspoken word to draw out your mind and body's deep seated needs. She is intuitive, knowledgeable and passionate and genuinely cares about the people she works with, which shines through in every aspect of her approach. I can honestly say that Ayurveda brought life-changing benefits into my world and I will be forever grateful for Emma's kindness and support. If you have a chance to work with her, do it. You will not regret it!

I went to see Emma as I felt I had a dip in my energy levels and was interested to see if Ayuvedic techniques would help. Emma quickly identified my type and gave me a Comprehensive guide to Foods I should avoid and those that would help. I followed this guidance for several months alongside taking some Ayuvedic herbs and powders. My energy did pick up. I still steer clear of most of the trigger foods and if I feel sluggish I go back to eliminating them. I firmly believe that treating the whole body Is the best option.”
